Dora Jane "Dodie" Stoops, 76, of 1605 E. Sheridan St., died at 10:10 a.m. Sept. 16, 2007, in her residence.
She was born March 9, 1931, in Evanston, Ill., to John M. and Edith Robbins Nay. On Jan. 3, 1951, in Wilmette, Ill., she married Richard Stoops, who died May 28, 1998.
Moving to Warsaw in 1951, she was a sales lady at Sears for nine years. She attended Indiana University and was a member of United Methodist Church, Warsaw; Friends of the Library; Warsaw Reading Club; Mobile Meals; and Psi Iota Xi Sorority.
Surviving are three daughters, Susan Carol Stoops, Tulsa, Okla.; Mary Jeanne Wise, Warsaw; and Elizabeth Ann Stoops, Elgin, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Steven Richard Stoops.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Laura Recio officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
