I have been following the letters regarding the Day of Silence and the Day of Truth with interest and concern.
I feel compelled to respond to Faye Miller's comment (April 29th) "let the homos get off theirs (soapbox) - either repent or go back in the closet where they belong." It was completely inappropriate and incredibly unkind at the very least. At the worst, Faye, you possibly reinforced an idea that many have about Christians: that they are insensitive, narrow-minded people who look down their noses at those not like themselves.
I would hope that if your viewpoint is that homosexuality is a sin, remember that Jesus reached out to those that society wanted "back in the closet." Please, reach out in kindness and not with condescending and hateful words.
