Donnette L. Schumacher, 54, of Claypool, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, while in the care of Parkview Regional Medical Center. A devoted daughter of God, Donnette lived her life as a testament to her faith, sharing the light of the Gospel with everyone she met. A dedicated prayer warrior, she maintained her sweet spirit and unwavering hope and faith until the very moment she was called home to Heaven.
Donnette was born in Warsaw on Jan. 25, 1972, and was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County. She grew up in a lively home alongside her parents, Priscilla Bess Poe Ransbottom and the late Randy Ransbottom, and three of her siblings. She always kept a positive attitude from her early childhood health issues and remained a true warrior throughout her life overcoming many struggles.
Her life was grounded in serving her Lord, from being a 1991 graduate of Lighthouse Christian Academy to enjoying the fellowship she cherished at church. A gifted and published poet, she had a rare ability to capture the world’s beauty in words. Donnette found God’s presence most clearly in nature, whether she was admiring a mountain peak or camping under the stars. She loved nature and all of God’s creatures, but none more so than her beloved dogs and birds that brought such joy to her heart.
She will be lovingly remembered for her wonderful laughter and the many memories she leaves behind. Donnette will be dearly missed by her husband, Ryan E. Schumacher, Claypool, … they were married on Aug. 15, 1992, and were blessed with almost 34 years of marriage before her passing. Also surviving is her mother, Priscilla Ransbottom, Silver Lake; and she loved and adored her nephews and nieces, Austin, Sam and Jaclyn Trowbridge; and Frankie and Gwen Howard; her brother, Tony Neal, Silver Lake; and five sisters: Shannon (Chris) Trowbridge, Leesburg; Ashley (Mark) Howard, Warsaw; Donata (Greg) Grimm, Claypool; Jessica Johnson, Rochester; and Eukie Ward, Kentucky.
Family and friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, May 11 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. Donnette’s life will be celebrated immediately following visitation at 1 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor William Whitaker.
