NAPPANEE – Donna R. Fitzgerald, 80, of 506 W. Walnut St., Nappanee, died at 8:35 a.m. Nov. 29, 2011, in Hubbard Hill Estates, Elkhart.

She was born Jan. 18, 1931, in Leesburg, to Artie and Mable Huffer Roberts. On March 3, 1951, in Clunette, she married Cecil Fitzgerald, who survives.

She was a graduate of Atwood High School and moved to Nappanee in 1953. She was a receptionist at Beer and Slabaugh, and ran Shamrock Meadows trailer park in Nappanee for a few years. She was a member of First Church of God, Nappanee; the American Legion Auxiliary; Fire Department Auxiliary; and a former member of the Lions Club. She taught nursery school at the church and also volunteered at the high school for special needs children.

Also surviving are a daughter, Christi (and spouse Steven) German, Nappanee; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Larry (and spouse Sharon) Roberts, Nashville. She was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with Pastor Mark Stayton officiating. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
