Donna P. Hively, 89, of Pierceton, died at 7:50 p.m. Jan. 10, 2011, in Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.

She was born Oct. 25, 1921, in Miami County, to Floyd and Lulu Yarian Hartzler. Her mother passed away when she was seven weeks old and she was raised by her aunt, Bina Hartzler Misener. In 1951, in Louisville, Ky., she married Lloyd Hively, who died May 18, 2002.

Moving to this area in 1930, she was a homemaker and raised and showed national champion Rambouille sheep and collie dogs. She was a member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church, Warsaw; and served on the county fair board; and was the Sunshine Extension Homemakers past county president and state treasurer.

Surviving are three sons: Bruce Hively, Pierceton; Doug Hively, Dallas, Ore.; and William Jerry Frush, Warsaw; a daughter, Karel Mulcahy, Pearland, Texas; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was also preceded in death by a brother and a granddaughter.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Pastor Kenn Freeland officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
