ANDERSON - Donna L. Lennen Brooks, 60, of Leesburg, died Dec. 21, 2008, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, after a courageous two-year battle with lung cancer.
She was born July 19, 1948, in New Castle, to William Murray and Virginia Lee VanHook Lennen, who preceded her in death.
She lived in the New Castle area most of her life, moving to Leesburg six years ago. She attended schools in Pendleton and Anderson and worked at the Moose Lodge in service management and property management. She was a member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Her kids were her hobby and career. She loved music - good music that is.
Surviving are her five children: Gary Golday; Kristina (and spouse Harold) Everage; Terry (and spouse Paula Jo) Golday; Nikki (and spouse Chris) Helgesen; and Desiree (and spouse Rickie) Hollenbach; two sisters, Jane Bragg and Sandra; 12 grandchildren: Donovan Thompson; Sarah Piper; Alan, Phillip, Terry, Tyler, Chelsea and Breanna Golday; Donna Everage; Arianna and Nikolas Helgesen; and Ethan Hollenback; two great-grandchildren, Caylynn Danyell Ellingwood and JaCoby Piper, and one on the way; special friends, Charles and Uncle Eddy Williams and Debbie Rhea; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and great-great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Brooks, and a longtime friend, Mel "B."
Services will be at 7 p.m. today at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson. There will be cremation.
