Donna J. HillerySYRACUSE – Donna J. Hillery, 81, of Milford, passed away at 1:57 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born on Sept. 21, 1939, in Peoria, Ill., to Harold C. and Cloye E. Tusing Stone.
She graduated from Nappanee High School and was a lifetime Nappanee/Milford area resident. She was married on Dec. 8, 1979, in Nappanee to David Leroy “Dave” Hillery, who preceded her on Dec. 1, 2010. She retired in 1998 as a clerk at Sprint Corporation after 32 years of service.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Milford.
She is survived by three daughters: Deb Smith, Lesia VanLue and Amiee (Steve) Bowler, all of Milford; son, Gene (Tanya) Tyler, of Milford; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ila Miller, of Nappanee; and brother, Dale (Yoshiko) Stone, of Oceanside, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Cheyenne VanLue; and two sons-in-law, Don Smith and Dan VanLue.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 27 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Memorial services will follow at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 27 in the funeral home.
