SYRACUSE – Donna E. Jernigan, 79, Syracuse, passed away at 9:25 p.m. Jan. 16, 2016, at I.U. Goshen Hospital. She was born March 17, 1936, in Elkhart, to Harold Dean and Goldie Elizabeth Mellott Mock. She was married April 18, 1954, in Decatur, to Douglas T. “Doug” Jernigan, who preceded her in death in 2004. She moved to the Syracuse area in the 1940s and attended Syracuse High School. She retired in 1996 from Dekko Engineering, North Webster, after many years and formerly worked at Webster Products. She attended the Church of God, North Webster, and was formerly a member of the North Webster American Legion Auxiliary and Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are a daughter, Elaine (and spouse Mike) Cook, Syracuse; two sons, Thomas (and spouse Andi) Jernigan and Larry Jernigan, both of Syracuse; three grandchildren: Jennifer (and spouse Jason) Webster, Leesburg; Ryan (and spouse Cari) Twait, Lexington, Ky.; Nathan Cook, Milford; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Graveside services will be in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery at a later date.
