Donna Belle Welborn, 85, of Warsaw, passed away at 4:26 p.m. May 25, 2010, in her residence.
She was born June 14, 1924, to Charles Arthur and Callie Flory Snyder. On April 1, 1945, she married David A. Welborn, who died Oct. 29, 2004.
She worked in a bakery and as a dental assistant in South Bend before she was married. She was a homemaker and later worked as a cook at Washington Elementary School, Warsaw, and Owen's Supermarket, Warsaw, for 25 years. She was a member of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church and a past member of Sunnymeade Grace Brethren Church, South Bend, and Leesburg Grace Brethren Church. She was also the 2002 Senior Queen of the Kosciusko County Fair.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol (and spouse Dennis) Bennema, Downers Grove, Ill., and Cindy (and spouse Neil) Houser, Kasilof, Alaska; a son, Kenneth (and spouse Jean) Welborn, Indianapolis; two sons-in-law, Denny Klotz, Warsaw, and David Loher, Winona Lake; 12 grandchildren: Rich Bennema, Kristi Bennema Larramore, Kathy Welborn Thrasher, David B. Welborn, Stacy Welborn, Mike Loher, Michelle Loher Hershberger, Amy Houser Williams, Shad Houser, Adam Houser, Shawn Houser and Cherise Houser Armstrong; great-grandchildren: Joshua, Nathan, Faith, Ella, Sam, Benny, Elizabeth, Jameson, Anna, Molly, Callie, Tyler, Kelsey, Ryan, Ashley, Neil, Evan, Oliver, Sonya, Alana, Krissy, Michael and Ava; and Jack the cat. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Christine L. Klotz and Karen Sue Loher; a great-grandson, Daniel Thrasher; a sister, Agnes Snyder Welborn; a brother, Clarence "Bud" Snyder; and a grandson-in-law, Rob Hershberger.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with Pastors Bruce Barlow, Tom Miller and Tom Julie officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
