Donita F. SecristMENTONE – Donita F. Secrist, 70, of Warsaw, and formerly of Mentone, passed at 12:12 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Stillwater Hospice Home of Fort Wayne.
Donita was born on Feb. 20, 1952, in Rochester, to the late William Elwin and Georgianna Dillingham Teel. She was married on Jan. 29, 1971, in Mentone, to Steven A. Secrist; he survives.
She was a 1970 graduate of Mentone High School. She worked for Word Music, the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office and The Pancake House. Donita was a member of the First Baptist Church of Warsaw. She enjoyed fishing, sewing and golfing. She was also a member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Secrist, of Warsaw; children: Eric Secrist, of Beaver Dam Lake; and Alisa Pate, of Fishers; grandchildren: Rebekah Nelson and McKenzy Secrist; a sister, Connie Haney, of Mentone; and her stepfather, Raymond Grubbs, of Warsaw.
Donita was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ronald Teel.
The funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 11 at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Dr. Larry Overstreet officiating.
The interment will take place following the service in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone.
Visitation hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 10 at King Memorial Home, Mentone.
