The Warsaw Feed My Starving Children MobilePack is “way below” donation levels to pack a million meals, according to Roger Grossman, Warsaw Community High School sports information director. “People want to pack, but they don’t understand that we need money to buy the food that is used for packing,”?he said. The food arrives in about two weeks and right now there is just over 50 percent of the funds needed for a million meals. The MobilePack returns to Warsaw Oct. 5 to 8 at the Gordon Rec Center on the campus of Grace College, according to its website at warsawmobilepack.com. Of the $220,000 needed, the website states $93,409 has been donated as of Tuesday. Donations can be made through the website. During the first two years of the FMSC Mobile Pack in Warsaw, over 2.1 million meals were packed. “We will still be able to do big things, but not as much as the last two years, and a lot of people won’t get to pack that have in the past,” Grossman said. FMSC is a Christian non-profit organization committed to feeding God’s children hungry in body and spirit, according to its website at fmsc.org. Volunteers hand-pack meals specially formulated for malnourished children, and the meals are sent to mission partners running orphanages, schools, clinics and feeding programs around the world.
