AKRON – Donald W. Personett, 68, of 308 N. Center St., Akron, died at 8 a.m. Oct. 5, 2011, in his residence.
He was born March 16, 1943, in Gilead, to Lawrence I. and Ellen “Lucille” Runkle Personett. On Aug. 12, 1995, he married Dolores Jean Bowman, who survives.
Moving to Akron from Miami County in 1991, he was a 1961 Gilead High School graduate and was a self-employed machinist.
Also surviving are four daughters: Lisa (and spouse Mike) Siblisk and Tammy (and spouse DJ) Johnson, all of Peru; Amy (and spouse Rob) Smalley, Columbus; and Melissa Horn, Mexico; four stepsons, Jerry (and spouse Sue) Seidner, Frank (and spouse Diane) Dyer and Scott (and spouse Laurie) Dyer, all of Traverse City, Mich., and John Dyer, Grandville, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Kathy Minix, Akron, and Jeannie (and spouse Richard) Howard, Skandia, Mich; two brothers, Earl (and spouse Ruby) Personett, Phoenix, Ariz., and Harold (and spouse June) Personett, Gilead; two sisters, Marie (and spouse Bud) Nickels, Peru, and Maryanne (and spouse Jerry) Kuhn, North Manchester; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private burial will be at a later date in Gilead Cemetery.
