Donald Ray Hines

Donald Ray Hines, 80, of West Plains, Mo., died at 11 a.m. Nov. 17, 2012, in Barnes-Jewish-Christian Hospital, St. Louis, Mo., after a short illness of pneumonia.
He was born Nov. 18, 1931, in Silver Lake, to Roy and Faye Beeney Hines. On June 19, 1954, in Warsaw, he married Verna L. Nelson, who died Dec. 24, 2001. They enjoyed 47 years of marriage.
Living in West Plains since 2002, he retired in 1996 from Dalton Foundry, Warsaw, after 41 years of service.  Prior he worked the home farm in Silver Lake, and worked at a furniture making company in North Manchester.
He faithfully attended church with his wife and children, first at Warsaw Church of God and later at Community Grace Brethren. He invested in real estate and managed rental properties. He was a faithful caregiver for his wife who suffered from multiple sclerosis and was paralyzed the last 20 years of her life. He leaves a legacy of loyalty, devotion and hard work.
Surviving are three sons: James Ray (and spouse Martha) Hines, Saginaw, Mich.; Jon Wayne Hines, Warsaw; and Jack Alan (and spouse Ann) Hines, Willow Springs, Mo.; a daughter, Joann Catherine Carr, Pierceton; a sister, Gloria Carter, Fort Wayne; 20 grandchildren: Barnabas Ray (and spouse Eryn), Ethan (and spouse Kindrea), Aaron, Titus (and spouse Joanna),  Isaiah, Theophilus (and spouse Suzanne), Seth, Elaine, Samantha, Sarah, Levi, Caleb Ray, Noah, David, Grace, John Quincy and Elijah Hines; Jonathan Carr; and Jacqueline and Jason Brown; and nine great-grandchildren: Emma, Kyrin, Adelai, Corah, Avery, Ian, Lynniah and Leticia Brown and Madeline Catanzarite, and two on the way. He also was preceded in death by her parents; a stepmother, Miriam; and two brothers,  Arthur and Edward Hines.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Tom Julien of  Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church. Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
