SYRACUSE – Donald Ray “Don”?Buhrt, 64, of Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly at 5:55 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at Goshen Hospital.
He was born on Aug. 30, 1956, in Goshen, to Robert G. ‘Bob’ and Lorabell Jane Newcomer Buhrt. He graduated in 1975 from Wawasee High School in Syracuse and was a lifetime Milford/Syracuse area resident.
He was married on Aug. 25, 1979, in North Webster, to Kimberly A. “Kim”?Beezley, who survives. He was a lifetime farmer and formerly worked part time at Buhrt Builders in Syracuse.
He was a member of the Church of God in North Webster, formerly served on the Wawasee Ag Advisory Committee and was a former member of the Lions Club in Milford.
He is survived by wife, Kim Buhrt, of Syracuse; two daughters: Beth (Matthew) Klaassen, of Warsaw; and Jodie (Robert Groover)?Buhrt, of Syracuse; four grandchildren; two sisters: Lana (Ross)?Deatsman, of Leesburg; and Patty Buhrt, of The Villages, Fla.; and one brother, Phil Buhrt, of New Castle.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Private funeral services will take place, with Pastor Jeff Boyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Milford.
