NAPPANEE – Donald R. Losee, age 84, of Milford, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026, at Goshen Hospital after a brief illness.
Donald was born on Aug. 11, 1942, in Gravelton, to Charles and Louise Stump Losee. Don attended Milford schools growing up and served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On Aug. 7, 1976, Don married Dale M. Wollman at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Warsaw.
Don retired from Beer and Slabaugh Inc. in 2018 after 30 years with the company. He drove a bus for Wawasee School Corporation for 18 years and cherished the relationships he built with students and their families over the years.
He was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and gardening. Don was proud of his tomato patch and enjoyed sharing fresh tomatoes and peppers from his garden with friends and neighbors each harvest season. He was a lifetime member of the Milford American Legion Post #226 and the Nappanee Conservation Club. Don loved airplanes and attending air shows. He was very proud that both his son and son-in-law had pilot’s licenses and shared his love for aviation. Above all, Donald was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dale Losee, of Milford; two children: Charles (Ellen) Losee, of Warsaw; and Sarah (Ken) Norris, of Bremen; three grandchildren: Emma, Allison and Regan Norris; and a sister, Janice Elliott, of Warsaw. Donald was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings: Mildred Charlton, George Losee and Larry Losee.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. A funeral service will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Union Center Cemetery.
