MILFORD – Donald L. Corl, 76, of Syracuse, and formerly of Bremen, died Sept. 6, 2012, in his residence. He was born Sept. 15, 1935, in Bremen, to Evertt and Bertha Flory Corl. On Sept. 17, 1955, he married Marcia Edel, who survives. He graduated from Bremen High School in 1953 where he met and married the love of his life, Marcia. He loved boat racing, building his first boat while in high school, eventually introducing his family to the sport, which they still enjoy today. He was a pioneer of the bath tub and manufactured housing industries. He loved to fish, living on Lake Wawasee, he and his wife would fish every day, no matter the weather. He was affectionately known as “the fish man.” Family was everything to him; he took great pride in his children and grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be missed. Also surviving are six children: Tim Corl, Tammy (and spouse Dr. John) Kratzer, Trudy (and spouse Dave) Pittman, Tracy Corl, Todd (and spouse Susan) Corl, Tricia (and spouse Rob) Koontz; 12 grandchildren, Jaxon (and spouse Sarah) Swain, Jesse Swain, Jordan Swain, Jill (and spouse Randy) Wagoner, Allison Verhaeghe, Uriah (and spouse Dee Dee) Pittman, Preston Pittman, Marci Clingenpeel, Justin Corl, Alec Corl, Ruby Koontz and Brad Koontz; three great-grandchildren, Garrett, Ragen and Sadie Jo; a brother, Richard (and spouse Barbara) Corl; and two sisters, Betty (and spouse Glen) Eldridge and Evelyn Corl. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Robert Verhaeghe. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mishler Funeral Home, 461 W. CR 900N., Milford, with Pastor James Mishler officiating.
