Donald H. Fretz, 70, of 1511 E. Main St., Warsaw, died at 12:45 a.m. Dec. 23, 2009, in his residence.
He was born May 1, 1939, in Plymouth, to Wilferd and Wilma Stewart Fretz. On April 22, 1961, in Warsaw, he married Iona Clark, who survives.
Living in Warsaw for 43 years, he was a retired electrician for Dalton Foundries and a former volunteer firefighter, retiring in 1979, KEMRAD. He was a district chairman of the Boys Scouts and assistant director of Good Sam's Camping Organization.
Also surviving are a daughter, Kim Fretz, Warsaw; a son, Joe (and spouse Amanda) Fretz, Leesburg; two brothers, Matthew O. (and spouse Wanda) Fretz, Sears, Mich., and Wayne N. (and spouse Sue) Fretz, Warsaw; a sister, Lillian Snell, Warsaw; two grandchildren, Brayton and Meghan Fretz, both of Leesburg; an uncle, Clinton Stewart, Moline, Kan.; two aunts, Alice Swager, Angola, and Virginia Hoagland, North Manchester; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with the Rev. David Smitley officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
