COLUMBIA CITY - Donald Eugene Geiger, 74, of 7875 CR 900W-92, Pierceton, died at 9:45 p.m. Feb. 28, 2007, in his residence.

He was born June 9, 1932, in Noble County, to Willis S. and Golden Marie Brown Geiger. On July 5, 1968, he married Carolyn Sue Culp, and they divorced in August 1988. On Feb. 11, 1989, in Pierceton, he married Mary Lou Sroufe McCabe, who survives.

He spent his lifetime in Noble, Elkhart and Whitley counties, living in Pierceton for the past 18 years. He attended school in Noble County. He first worked for Franklin Coach, then drove a truck for 29 years, delivering mobile homes for Fairmont Homes, Nappanee.

Also surviving are 11 children: Michael E. Geiger, New Paris; Mrs. Rick (Kathy E.) Fennell, Bremen; John D. Geiger, Fortuna, Calif.; Mark A. Geiger, Pierceton; Matthew A. Geiger, Wakarusa; Diana S. Geiger, Goshen; Elijah McCabe, Anigo, Wis.; Stephen McCabe, Rhinelander, Wis.; Craig Geiger Lock, Columbia City; Madella Baker, New Corydon; and Donald Eugene Geiger Jr., Key Largo, Fla.; 27 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, a son, a grandson, three brothers, and a sister.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City, with Pastors Mike Kelley and George Webster officiating. Burial will be in Thorn Cemetery, Ormas, Noble County.
