LIGONIER – Donald Earl Poyser, 79, Cromwell, passed away May 2, 2015.
He was born June 15, 1935, in Cromwell, to George and Ethel Hursey Poyser. On Oct. 8, 1954, at the Cromwell Methodist Church, he married Lois Harsh, who survives.
He was a beloved and devoted pastor. He served Wolf Lake, Kimmel, Burket, Pierceton and Pleasant Grove United Methodist churches. He retired from his pastoral duty after 38 years of service.
He served his country honorably with the National Guard. He attended Cromwell High School and Goshen College.
Also surviving are three children: Peggi (and spouse Jerry) Benson, Randy and Diane Poyser; three granddaughters: Brandy (and spouse Jamie) Owens, Wendy Meredith and Kelly (and spouse Drew) Krause; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Art and Jess Poyser. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Marvin Poyser.
A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, with Pastor John Lutton officiating. Burial is in Sparta Cemetery, Kimmel.
