PIERCETON – Donald “Don” G. Sexton, age 59, of Pierceton, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019, at 2:20 a.m. in Parkview Whitley Hospital.
Don was born on Oct. 8, 1960, in Martin, Ky., to Ronnie and Bonnie Adkins Sexton. He was united in marriage to Janis Hammersley on July 6, 1995.
Don was a resident of Kosciusko County for most of his lifetime. He worked as a maintenance man for Rinker Boats. Don was a former street stock car racer at New Paris Speedway. His hobbies included being a mechanic and working on cars at his home. Don enjoyed mowing the yard and being outdoors.
Don is survived by wife, Janis Sexton, of Pierceton; children, Stacy Sexton, of South Whitley; Nicol Smith, of South Whitley; Michael Sexton, of Pierceton; Stephanie (Joshua) England, of Claypool; Sergeant Sara Engle, of Ossian; Johnathon (Elizabeth) Shafer, of Pierceton; Lori (CJ) Jared, of Milford; and Christine Shafer, of Pierceton. In addition, Don is survived by his father, Ronnie Sexton, of Pierceton; 16 grandchildren; siblings, Connie (Ron) Ringle, of Pierceton; Christina (Ed) Hartman, of Missouri; James Sexton, of Pierceton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton. His funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 30 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Erin Huiras officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
