Don Rogers, 63, of Warsaw, died unexpectedly at 4 a.m. June 14, 2013, in his residence. He was born March 18, 1950, in Warsaw, to Merle E. and Arlene J. Yarger Rogers. On Aug. 15, 1971, in Warsaw, he married Barbara Young, who died March 9, 2009, missing her from the moment she passed away. He now is reunited with her. He was a 1968 graduate of Warsaw High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was honorably discharged at Lowry Air Force Base, Colo., Nov. 21, 1969. He was a sign coordinator for the Kosciusko County Highway Dept. for 30 years, retiring in 2004. He also worked at Warsaw Big R for seven years. He was a member of North Winona Church of the Brethren, American Legion Post 49 and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Association. He enjoyed golf and NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. were his favorite drivers. He liked John Deere tractors and was a workaholic and displayed a great work ethic. Although not always spoken openly, he was a very caring man who had a big heart for helping others. He was a devoted husband and dad who was always loving and caring. He was always ready to help his children and go the extra mile for them. He always told the kids to be careful when they left the house and worried about them until they returned home. He loved spending time with his family. He especially loved time with his grandchildren and now has become their guardian angel. Surviving are a daughter, Michele (and spouse Michael) Psalidas, South Bend; a son, Brian L. Rogers, Warsaw; three grandchildren, Alan and Brycelyn Psalidas, South Bend, and Autumn Rogers, Warsaw; his mother, Arlene J. Rogers, Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers, Robert S. Rogers, Fort Worth, and Tony Rogers, Tucson, Ariz.; and a sister, Lucy Aitken, Tucson. He also was preceded in death by his father, who died Oct. 19, 1992. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Michael Smith of North Winona Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
