SYRACUSE – Don D. Schanlaub, 83, of Warsaw, passed away March 16, 2012, in Syracuse.
He was a son, husband, and father. He was born Feb. 6, 1929, in Rensselear, to Gerald and Marguerite Meyers Schanlaub. He has been reunited with his wife of 58 years, Mildred Lavern Auter Schanlaub, who preceded him in death in 2011.
He was a PMA mechanic for Lever Brothers, Hammond, for 34 years before retiring in 1982. He also was the former owner of Mosers Marina on Chapman Lake. He was a Korean War Veteran.
Surviving are a son, Dennis (and spouse Christie) Schanlaub, Syracuse; two grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty (and spouse Glen) Jones, Crown Point; and a brother, Bill (and spouse Hariett) Schanlaub, Livingston, Texas. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Marie Schanlaub in 1959.
He will be laid to rest with his wife at the Syracuse Cemetery at a later date.
