Don CowanSYRACUSE – Don Cowan, 73, of Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019, at his home.
He was born on June 4, 1946, in Louisville, Ky., to Cedric and Eva LaShelle Cowan. He was a graduate of Hanover College. Don served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War.
On Dec. 27, 1967, he married Cassie Wells, who survives. He owned Bearcat Corp. in Goshen.
Along with his wife, Cassie Cowan, of Syracuse, Don is survived by his two sons, Jeff (Kari) Cowan, of Syracuse, and Jack (Betsy) Cowan, of Syracuse; and four grandchildren, Jake, Sadie, Tate and Davis.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse. At 4:30 p.m., there will be a celebration of Don's life officiated by Pastor Kent Butcher followed by military honors conducted by the Syracuse American Legion. Casual attire per Don’s request.
