Domestic battery, strangulation allegedA Warsaw man was arrested Sunday on strangulation and domestic battery charges.
Richard Lee Mounts, 39, of 665 W. Jefferson St., Warsaw, was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 9:04 a.m. Sunday for strangulation. His preliminary bond was set for $10,500.
Court documents filed June 29 list the charges against him as strangulation, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.
On June 23, Warsaw Police officer Justin Curtis responded to a call concerning domestic battery. Upon arrival, he spoke with a woman who said Mounts became angry, called her names and grabbed her by the throat with both hands and threw her to the ground. He began choking her while pinning her to the ground.
The woman had red marks on both sides of her neck and chest, bruises on her left leg and a small cut on her thumb.
Curtis spoke with a man who said he was inside a residence and heard yelling and screaming. He looked out the window and saw Mounts throwing the woman into a fence.
