Domestic Battery Charges Filed After Kick To FaceA Warsaw man is facing domestic battery charges after allegedly kicking a woman in the face.

Juan Alberto Alonzo-Santos, 44, of 3762 W. Old 30, #21W, Warsaw, was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 11:33 a.m. Friday for domestic battery. His preliminary bond was set at $2,750.

Court documents filed Jan. 9 list the charges against him as domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony, and domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.

On Dec. 25, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy Travis Mickem responded to a domestic dispute complaint. There, he talked with the victim who said she and Alonzo-Santos had an argument that evening, but the day before they had a disagreement where he became angry, called her a whore and kicked her on the left side of her face. Mickem saw and photographed redness and scratches on her face and arm.

Present in the home during the altercation were three children, two of whom witnessed it.

While Mickem was talking to Alonzo-Santos, he detected a strong odor of alcohol. His eyes were bloodshot and watery and his balance was unstable. Alonzo-Santos said nothing happened other than an argument on either night in question.

A no contact order was entered on Jan. 9.
