Domestic battery charges filed A Warsaw man is facing domestic battery charges after allegedly pushing and hitting his girlfriend.

Esteban Palos, 24, of 920 Anchorage Road, lot 80, Warsaw, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 7:16 p.m. Feb. 8 for domestic battery. His preliminary bond was set at $6,000.

He has been released on his own recognizance with an initial hearing set for 1 p.m. Monday.

Court documents filed Monday list the charges against him as domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony, and domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.

On Feb. 8, Warsaw Police Department officer Daniel Clemens responded to a domestic dispute, assisted by WPD Sgt. Ryan Petty.

Petty spoke with a woman who said she and her boyfriend, Palos, were arguing when he grabbed her, pushed her to the floor and slapped her on the face, causing her pain and a bruised lip. She also said she hit Palos in self-defense.

Clemens spoke with Palos, who had blood on his face. He said he and his girlfriend were having a disagreement when she hit him on the face.

Palos voluntarily took a portable breath test, which resulted in a .147 blood alcohol concentration.

A child under 16 was in the home while Palos pushed and hit the victim.

A no contact order was entered on Monday.
