The other day, Sen. Cory Booker questioned a woman who was a candidate for a judgeship about an article she wrote a few years ago in which she questioned the Supreme Court decision in favor of gay marriages. He asked her if she thought gay marriages were immoral. I didn't hear her complete answer. It might have been an answer that would have preserved her chances of becoming a judge.
If I had been in her place, my answer probably would have caused an uproar and ended my chances to be a judge. I would have told the senator, "It depends on if you fear man or God more. Since God considers homosexual marriages immoral since a marriage is between man and a woman, I must consider it immoral. Just because something is legal, or in this case approved by the Supreme Court, doesn't mean it's right. The Supreme Court approved of slavery. That didn't make it right because men in black robes approved of it. God is the ultimate judge. Do you fear what mortals say is right or wrong and fear a fine being imposed upon you, or do you fear God saying you are wrong and He sends you to hell?"
Earlier in the week, there was an attempt to remove “so help me God” from oaths in legal proceedings like government swearing-ins. But it was voted down. There has been an attempt to delegitimize God in so many areas. It is not unconstitutional to pray to God in schools because the First Amendment refers to Congress and not schools. But schools fear the ACLU and atheists more than they fear God. If I were a school administrator and I allowed a coach to pray on the football field and the expected lawsuit were issued against me, I would not pay the imposed fine and would allow the coach to continue praying because I would tell the plaintiff that schools are not in the Legislature since they aren't allowed to vote in Congress. The First Amendment says that the Legislature can't prohibit the free exercise of religion. Since praying on the field is protected by the First Amendment, why stop an action the Constitution supports?
Over half a century ago, the ACLU and atheists had prayer and dependence on God and the Bible thrown out of public schools. They considered God an enemy of public education. Have schools become less or more dangerous since I was in grade school during the ’60s? Without Godly moral standards being upheld, have there been less or more sexual crimes and pregnancies of girls? The Bible says we should respect our bodies and respect others. When the Bible was thrown out, immorality replaced it.
God bless America is being banished by the left. Should we expect God to bless America if he has been excluded from society?
