Dillinger Raid Set For Sept. 11-12

Posted
John Dillinger died July 22, 1934, after spending much of his adult life in prison. He left a legendary string of robberies and bank holdups that became the subject of movies, books and countless articles and earned him a reputation as public enemy number one, according to a news release from the Kosciusko County Historical Society.

That colorful past and story will be retold and highlighted at the Annual John Dillinger Raid Sept. 11-12 in downtown Warsaw.

The two-day event will feature, among other things, a classic car show, food and craft vendors and special exhibits and tours at the Old Jail Museum, 121 N. Indiana St., Warsaw.

The car that Dillinger stole in his legendary escape from Crown Point is scheduled to be a main attraction at the event.

The Kosciusko County Historical Society will host the event.

To find out more about being a craft vendor at the event or for general information about the Dillinger Raid, contact the Kosciusko County Historical Society at 574-269-1078 or director@kosciuskohistory.com.

Plan to attend on Sept. 11, 9 to 5 p.m., or Sept. 12 1 to 5 p.m.

There will be activities for the entire family to enjoy.
