Dick Harvey, 78, of Warsaw, passed away at 12:10 a.m. March 4, 2013, in his residence. He was born Aug. 13, 1934, in Wabash, to J.B. and Delight Lindemuth Harvey. He married Dawn Graves, who survives. Their union lasted 52 wonderful years. He faithfully served his country from Aug. 20, 1951, to Aug. 5, 1955, in the U.S. Navy aboard the Destroyer USS Eversole DD789 as a boatswain’s mate during the Korean War. After the cease fire July 27, 1953, the Eversole was deployed to the Formosa Straits (now the Taiwan Straits). He was a self-employed exterminator for more than 50 years as owner and operator of Warsaw Pest Control. He was a life member of American Legion Post 15, Wabash; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 286, Wabash; the Korean War Veterans Association; the National Rifle Association; and Ducks Unlimited. Also surviving are a son, Bret (and spouse Sarah) Adams Harvey, Huntington; and two grandchildren, Claire and Will Harvey, both of Huntington. At his request there will be no public calling or services.
