BLOOMINGTON – Diane Kain Grossman Gerard, 86, of Bloomington, died Sept. 23, 2012, in Garden Villa.
She was born 1926 in Warsaw, to Paul M. and Ruth Thayer Kain. In 1954, she married Rin F. Grossman, who preceded her in death. In 1975, she married Jerry Gerard, who died in 2007.
She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1944, where she was drum majorette for the marching band. She attended Methodist Hospital School of Nursing and received her nursing certification in 1969 from Ivy Tech Community College, Bloomington. She was a nurse at Bloomington Hospital and at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was a member of Tri Kappa, First Presbyterian Church, Elks Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star, Methodist Hospital Sextet of Singers and was president of the church choir.
Surviving are two daughters, Cindy (and spouse Steve) Hobbs and Jennifer (and spouse Jay) True; two sons, Christian (and spouse Elizabeth) Grossman and David Grossman; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two infant sons, a brother and daughter.
A private memorial service will be held.
