Devon S. DunnuckMENTONE – Devon S. Dunnuck, 85, of Akron and Claypool area, passed at 6:34 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023, at The Waters of Wabash East.

Devon was born on Nov. 10, 1937, in Warsaw, to the late Donald and Gladys Snyder Dunnuck. He was married on July 2, 1955, in Tippecanoe, to Patricia Ann Lozier; she preceded him in death on June 5, 1994.

He was a 1955 graduate of Tippecanoe High School. He was owner/operator of Devon Dunnuck & Sons Trucking Company, retiring after over 40 years. He met Marilyn Stafford and they spent 12 years together. They enjoyed going on day trips to the area casinos.  In years past, he enjoyed socializing and drinking coffee with friends.

He is survived by his sons, Michael and wife Mary Dunnuck, of Warsaw; and Rob and wife Becky Dunnuck, of Akron; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Geneal Ecker, of Plymouth; and his longtime companion, Marilyn Stafford.

Devon was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sons, Lee Allen and Gene Dunnuck; a brother, Charles Dunnuck; and sisters, Evelyn Sechrist and Deloris Blackford.

The funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1 at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Luke Vasicek officiating.

The interment will take place following the service in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone, next to his wife Pat.

Visitation hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31 at King Memorial Home, Mentone.

Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Beaver Dam Church/Wheels on Fire to assist the community members who are fighting cancer.
