NAPPANEE – Devon Jay Slabaugh, 53, New Paris, died at 9:32 p.m. June 22, 2015, at South Bend Memorial Hospital from injuries received in a buggy/truck accident on U.S. 6 east of Nappanee on June 11, 2015. He was born Nov. 13, 1961, to Elmer A. and Rosa Borkholder Slabaugh. On April 14, 1983, in Nappanee, he married Kathryn June Schmucker, who survives. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the family residence, 21791 CR 52, New Paris, with Bishop Amos Borkholder and the Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church officiating. Burial is in West Union Center Cemetery. Calling is after 2 p.m. Thursday and all day Friday at the family residence. Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, is entrusted with arrangements.
