Destination Kosciusko County - 2009 Product Development Grant

Posted
The Kosciusko County Convention, Recreation, and Visitor Commission recently announced the second "Destination Kosciusko" Product Development Grant.

The KCCRVC began this grant program in 2008 and awarded grants to the Lake City Greenway and the Hire Park BMX track totaling $40,000.

This grant, only the second such tourism product development grant in Indiana, is designed to encourage, support, and assist organizations in the creation of projects to further the development of tourism in Kosciusko County.

This is a matching fund grant with a budget of $50,000, which can provide tourism grants up to a maximum of $20,000 per project.

Eligible applicants include any Kosciusko County-based non-profit organization including municipalities, parks departments, chambers of commerce, attractions, schools, sports organizations and other organizations.

The organization must operate and serve in Kosciusko County, and all organizations must be currently listed as a non-profit with the Indiana Secretary of State. Commission President Mike Stetzel said, "We are excited to be able to continue this grant into 2009. With the current economy this grant will hopefully provide support to communities and organizations encouraging them to continue with tourism-related product development projects."

The Kosciusko County Convention & Visitors Bureau will manage this grant program with the commission. Deadline for submission of the preliminary grant form is Feb. 25.
