DARIEN, Ga. – Kassandra Derf, daughter of former Warsaw resident Jeff Derf, now residing in Palmetto, Fla., recently won the title of “Miss Blessing of the Fleet” in the annual scholarship contest in Darien, Ga.
Derf, a member of the National Honor Society, will graduate from Richmond Hill High School in Darien May 19.
She also attends Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savanna.
She volunteers to help others through the Destructive Decisions Club, Interact Club and World Cultures Club.
She also serves on the yearbook staff and is a junior black belt in Tae-Kwan-Do. She hopes to study in Madrid, Spain, during her college career.
She is the niece of Kim and Lisa Derf, Silver Lake, and the great-granddaughter of Norma Creighton, Winona Lake.
