Denny Hepler knocked in a hole-in-one on No. 7 at Stonehenge Golf Course to get within one stroke of leader Cary Hungate, of Kokomo Country Club, at the IGA's Indiana Section Club Professional Championship Monday.
Hepler shot a three-under 68 and is tied for second with Todd Smith, of Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru.
Dave Schumaker, of host Stonehenge, is tied with two other golfers for fourth place after one round. Schumaker's two-under round of 69 keeps him in contention. Everyone in the top 10 will qualify for the Regional Club Professional Championship in Hastings, Nebraska in September.
Sycamore Golf Course's Quinn Griffing is tied for seventh after shooting a one-under 70 and Todd D. Sandow, also of Sycamore, is at one-over, tied for 17th.
