PIERCETON - Dennis L. Wertenberger, 64, of Pierceton, died at 3:16 a.m. Aug. 23, 2010, in Lutheran Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born Nov. 3, 1945, in Warsaw, to Ralph and Wanda David Wertenberger Jr. On May 27, 2004, in Fort Wayne, he married Paula M. Perkins McClain, who survives.
A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, he was a self-employed farrier for 25 years and worked at Midwest Roll Forming, Pierceton, and Symmetry Medical Corp., Warsaw. He was a member of American Legion Post 253, Pierceton, and Eagles Lodge, Columbia City.
Also surviving are a daughter, Deana (and spouse Tony) Eberly, South Whitley; a son, Donald (and spouse LaWanda) Wertenberger, Oklahoma City, Okla.; two sisters, Linda Lou Klotz, Fort Wayne, and Vicki Ousley, Pierceton; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, with Chaplain Bob Jarboe officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
