Dennis Eugene Blue

Dennis Eugene Blue, Auburndale, Fla., formerly of Warsaw, passed away Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at Lakeland (Fla.) Regional Hospital at the age of 76.

He was born Dec. 16, 1941, in Kendallville, to Melva L. Blue and Mary Ellen Ott Blue.

Dennis was a resident of Kosciusko County for 47 years and was a 1960 graduate of Warsaw High School.

He worked at Lake City Bank and was the owner of Service Liquors in Warsaw prior to his opening of DeNellie’s Pizza in Bourbon and Bremen. In 1982 he moved to Fort Myers, Fla., where he owned and operated Matlache Oyster House for many years. He then owned Edge of Knife in Polk City, Fla., until his passing.

Dennis was a past president of the Warsaw Jaycees and a past member of Warsaw Elks Lodge.

He leaves behind one son, one daughter and four grandchildren. He is survived by his mother, Mary Blue, and his sister, Paula Devenney, both of Warsaw.

He was preceded in death by his father.     

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Larry Burkhart.

Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
