A Kosciusko County Judge has denied a request for a bond reduction for the Warsaw woman accused of promoting prostitution and bribery.

Myong Suk Demorales, 52, of Warsaw and Lawrenceville, Ga., was arrested in February on one count of promoting prostitution, one count of corrupt business influence, and three counts of bribery, all Class C felonies.Demorales requested that her original bond of $200,000 be reduced to $20,000 in Kosciusko Circuit Court April 12. Kosciusko Circuit Court Judge Rex Reed took the matter under advisement at that time and said he would announce his decision this week.

Judge Reed denied the request earlier this week, leaving Demorales' bond at $200,000.

Last week, Demorales told the court she has no prior criminal arrests. She said she also has no passport, car or money because police seized the items during the investigation. Demorales is set to stand trial July 17.

Demorales' arrest came after the Warsaw Police Department's two-year investigation into questionable massage establishments.

Demorales managed VIP-The Office Spa in Warsaw and had ties to VIP Tanning on Coliseum Boulevard, Fort Wayne, as well as connections to similar businesses in Georgia and other states.

During the investigation, Demorales and another woman, Song McClay, allegedly offered money to a police detective, asking him to overlook violations of Warsaw's ordinance regarding massage establishments.

Demorales was taken into custody in Georgia Feb. 26 after officers from the Warsaw Police Department and the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force served warrants at her Lawrenceville residence.
