Deloris D. “DeDe” Goshert, 87, Warsaw, passed away at 1:30 p.m. May 26, 2015, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born Feb. 13, 1928, in Carmel, to Richard C. and Sadie Bishop Hume. On Nov. 3, 1946, in Richmond, she married her high school sweetheart, William E. “Bill” Goshert, who died May 12, 2014. She lived most of her life in Warsaw. She was a 1945 graduate of Warsaw Community Schools, and she earned a bachelor’s degree from Grace College with a major in education. She earned a master’s degree from Indiana University with a major in library science. She taught senior English first and then went on to be the high school librarian at Warsaw Community High School – all together for 25 years – retiring June 1, 1986. Her love of music was exemplified by her years as a choir director for Trinity United Methodist Church and Church of God, both of Warsaw, and Presbyterian Church, Portland. She held several positions in the churches she attended. She was a member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church for the last three years of her life. She directed a swing choir in Portland as well as the Jay County Chorus. She also was a member of the Kosciusko County Extension Chorus. She was a cheerleading sponsor and an avid reader. Surviving are a son, Rocky (and spouse Joy) Goshert, Warsaw; two daughters, Ann (and spouse Taylor) Seward, Winona Lake, and Sherry (and spouse Charles) Stultz, South Bend; six grandsons: Brody (and spouse Katie) Shively, Plymouth; Cale (and spouse Cindy) Shively, Noblesville; Jeff (and spouse Allyson) Stultz, Cincinnati, Ohio; Brian (and spouse Kelly) Stultz, South Bend; Cody (and fiancee Mary London Carswell) Goshert, Atlanta, Ga.; Drake Klopfenstein, Leesburg; a granddaughter, Taylor Goshert, Marion; 12 great-grandchildren; two nieces, Earleen Nelson, Battle Creek, Mich., and Marleen (and spouse Jack) Willbur, Wilmington Island, N.C. She also was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Estal Apple and Crystal Frye. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Cindi “Carey” Webb, friend of the family, officiating. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
