The stage will come alive as the students of Debra Collier’s School of Dance perform in the studio’s 49th annual recitals, “Talents and Trades.”
Performers from the studio will take the stage today for three performances at the Warsaw Community High School Performing Arts Center. “Talents and Trades” will bring creativity, passion and artistry to center stage through dynamic choreography and captivating performances, according to a provided news release. The dancers will celebrate a variety of talents, skills, and stories with routines that range from playful and lighthearted to bold and energetic, the news release states.
The performances will also include a tribute to the studio’s founder, Debra Collier, as she concludes her final recital season. After 49 years of inspiring dancers and building community at Debra Collier’s School of Dance, she will retire at the conclusion of this season, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the studio she founded in 1977, stated the release. As part of a succession process, ownership of the studio will transfer to longtime instructor Kristina Collier and her husband, Chase Collier. Kristina has been part of the studio for 28 years and has played an role in teacher training, program and syllabus development, studio growth and daily operations. The tribute includes both alumni, staff and current dancers.
Over 100 students will be recognized throughout the recitals for five or more continuous years of study. “We are very proud of the students, their dedication and hard work,” said Deb Collier. “It is exciting to celebrate their accomplishments.”
