ERLANGER, Ky. — Deborah Lee Stimmel Personette, originally from Richmond, passed away April 18, 2017, in Florence, Ky.
Debbie was born in Richmond to Wendell and Betty Benge Personette on Aug. 14, 1950. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1968. Soon after she moved to Syracuse and married her life-long best friend, Sam Stimmel. There, she raised two daughters, Tracy Stimmel, Los Angeles, Calif., and Michelle Stimmel, Syracuse. Many years later she returned to Richmond to care for her mother and moved to Florence, Ky., in 2016 to be with her sister, Maryann Spillman.
Her greatest joys in life were reading, her family and spending time with her grandchildren: Drake, Lillian, Mason, Jack and Daxton. Their Nana will always remain at the heart of their happiest childhood memories.
In addition to her immediate family, she will be greatly missed by her sisters: Maryann Spillman, Florence; Teresa Adams, Michigan; Kelley Personette, Florida; Johna Yandyl, Fountain City; and brothers: David Personette, Florida; Marc Personette, Richmond; and Ralph Clark, Sacramento, Calif.; in addition to five nieces and eight nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty J. Benge Clark; father, Wendell Personette; stepfather, John R. Clark Sr.; brother, Jeff Personette; and nieces, Nicole Abernathy and Erin Spillman.
A memorial service celebrating Debbie's life will be held at The Rock Church, 9564 E. CR 1050N, Cromwell, from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 10.
There will be a gathering immediately afterward around the corner for a post-memorial reception with food and friends at 10245 N. Turkey Creek, Syracuse.
