AKRON - Debbie Sue Whetstone, 54, of 10437 Ind. 15, Silver Lake, died at 9:35 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009, in her residence.
She was born May 6, 1955, in Warsaw, to Carl and Alice Depoy Kissinger, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 23, 1973, in Warsaw, she married John Whetstone, who survives.
Moving to Silver Lake from North Webster 11-1/2 years ago, she was a 1973 Wawasee High School graduate. She co-owned Whetstone Woodenware and managed their store at The Village at Winona. Along with her husband, she conducted church services in their home and daily lived with the Lord in their life.
Also surviving are 10 children: Samuel (and spouse Jennifer) Whetstone, Wabash; Josiah Whetstone, North Manchester; Jeremiah Whetstone, Omaha, Neb.; Hannah (and spouse Jesse) Bubb and Rebekah (and spouse Steve) Miller, all of Warsaw; and Jonathon, Benjamin, Jacob, Nathan and Rachel Whetstone, all of Silver Lake; three grandchildren; and a sister, Connie (and spouse Joe) Harlan, Cromwell. She was preceded in death by a brother, J.C. Kissinger.
A graveside service was at 2 p.m. today at Lake View Cemetery, Silver Lake, with Dwight Hammond officiating.
Calling is from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Mentone United Methodist Church.
Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester St., Akron, was in charge of arrangements.
