ROCHESTER — Dean Smith, 85, Rochester, passed away at 2:14 p.m. May 19, 2017, at his residence.
He was born March 5, 1932, to Fred L. and Clidia White Smith. On Jan. 11, 1958, he married Wanda Jerine Farber. She died Aug. 13, 2009.
Dean served in the U.S. Navy for 24 years, including in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was honorably discharged as a lieutenant commander in the Medical Service Corps.
A celebration of Dean’s life will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester. Pastor Larry Pyeatt will officiate.
Calling will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and an hour prior to the service Thursday in the funeral home.
Interment will be in Rochester IOOF Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard and the U.S. Navy Honors Team.
