MENTONE – Dean C. Nellans Jr., 90, Mentone, died at 3:50 p.m. March 8, 2016, at Mason Health Care, Warsaw. He was born Aug. 10, 1925, in Mentone, to Dean C. and Ethel Tucker Nellans. On Dec. 17, 1964, in Mentone, he married Jeannine Blue, who survives in Mentone. He was a farmer and a truck driver. He was a 1943 graduate of Mentone High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of American Legion Post 49, Warsaw. He enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, birds, his cats and yard work. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Also surviving are two daughters, Sherry (and spouse Stan) Pequignot, Warsaw, and Kathy (and spouse Lloyd) Morgan, Akron; two sons, Randy (and spouse Aimee) Nellans, Rochester, and Rusty (and spouse Kelly) Nellans, Mentone; 29 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Juanita Paulus, Rochester. He was preceded in death by a son, Sonny Nellans, and two sisters, Geraldine “Jerry” Smith and Norma Jean Clauss. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at King Memorial Home, Mentone, with Pastor Denny Bollenbacher and speaker Sunday Adelakin officiating. Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by American Legion Post 49.
