COLUMBIA CITY - Dean A. Terman, 66, of Troy Cedar Lake, died at 12:10 p.m. March 22, 2007, in his residence.

He was born Oct. 18, 1940, in Troy Township, Whitley County, to Russell S. and Anna B. Tannehill Terman. On Dec. 23, 2006, he married Judi A. Sherwood, who survives.

A lifetime resident of Troy Township, he graduated from Larwill High School and IPFW. He served in the U.S. Navy from Sept. 4, 1958, to Nov. 19, 1961. A self-employed truck driver, he worked for United Trucking from 1968 to 1973; North Manchester Trucking, from 1973 to 1983; Next Day Transfer from 1983 to 1990; and Trojan Teaming Co. from 1990 to August 2006. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2919, South Whitley; American Legion Post 258, Pierceton; and a life member of Disabled American Veterans.

Also surviving are two sons, Dean Terman Jr., Churubusco, and Timothy Terman, Fort Wayne; a daughter, Mrs. Colin (Tamatha) May, Valparaiso; two grandchildren; and a brother, Don E. Terman, Columbia City.

Graveside services with military honors by the AmVets 2919 will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Adams Cemetery with the Rev. Curtiss Johnson officiating.

Calling is from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
