Deadline Approaches For Kosciusko REMC Scholarship Entries

Posted
Kosciusko REMC members and their dependents have until 5 p.m. Monday to submit entries for the 2009-2010 Kosciusko REMC Scholarships.

Six $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in May to winning applicants who are pursuing higher education.

The scholarships will be awarded based on a combination of academic achievement, financial need and community involvement/leadership. Graduating high school seniors and current college students, as well as adults working towards a bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree are eligible to apply, so long as the scholarship funds are remitted to an accredited two- or four-year college or university. This marks the sixth year for the scholarship program.

"Commitment to education is a core operating principle for Kosciusko REMC," said KREMC President and CEO Steve Rhodes. "We are proud to carry on this commitment through the offering of these scholarships. Throughout the program's existence, we have awarded funds to some phenomenal students and members of our community, and we hope this investment pays off with their return to work in Kosciusko County."

Scholarship applications are available online at www.kremc.com through the Kosciusko County Community Foundation office, or through guidance counselors at area high schools. All applications must be received by 5 p.m. Monday. Winners will be notified in May.
