D.C. Motorcycle RunFour local residents left Wednesday morning on their motorcycles for the Rolling Thunder Run to the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington D.C. Pictured (L to R) are Mark Easterday, Jim Crist, Sally Harmes, and Bob Morrison. The group left from Warsaw and will return Tuesday. They traveled to Indianapolis where they joined with 100 motorcyclists from Rolling Thunder Indianapolis Chapter to travel to the war memorial. Motorcylists from all around the United States will be in Washington D.C. with veterans from New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Korea and Vietnam. One million motorcycles will be in Washington D.C. this Memorial Day weekend. The purpose of the event is to let government leaders and the president know they must be accountable for prisoners of war and those missing in action. The event also is a healing process for many soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen and coast guard officials who never received credit for their service, organizers said.
