Editor, Times-Union: Politicians can say they don’t tell lies by saying the facts don’t agree with what they believe. I call baloney Washington meat because they produce lots of baloney in Washington. We need to be able to translate political speak to learn the truth. When Democrats say the rich should pay their fair share in taxes, they mean those who can live independent of government help should pay high enough taxes to make them dependant on the government unless those “rich” people contribute money to them. When Hillary says the attacks on her are a smear campaign, she means facts she doesn’t believe in shouldn’t be used against her. And since she doesn’t believe in those facts, they can’t be facts. She claims she did the job of Secretary of State to the best of her ability. That makes her capable of being president. If that is the case, that means a legless athlete who enters running races should be given trophies that indicate they are a winner even though they lose every race. When politicians say they are pro-choice and those that oppose abortion are extremists, they mean women who choose to have sex which produces pregnancy should be allowed to exterminate the life in the womb, and if a female feels it is more important to have sexual pleasure than to be burdened with a child, that child’s life is expendable. I know that Margaret Sanger who founded Planned Parenthood believed some races didn’t deserve to reproduce. Ironically, those who support Planned Parenthood are supported by those considered expendable. When Obama bragged about the creation of over 14 million jobs, even though over 94 million are still unemployed and we have had slow economic growth since the democrat Congress was mostly responsible for the economic collapse of 2008, he was counting just the number of jobs created and not how many jobs were lost. That could mean a person who loses his jobs 10 times had 10 jobs counted in the statistics, what if those 14 million jobs were held by fewer than 3 to 5 million people with millions of jobs being part time. I sometimes think many of the jobs that were shovel-ready that Obama’s stimulus package funded were for bovine excrement experts. When Democrats blame Republicans for the problems Democrats cause they are like bullies that blame their victims’ hard heads for hurting their fists. When some Republicans say they can work with Democrats, they mean they won’t be beat up too bad when they go along with Democrat demands. When Democrats say we can’t go back to the failed policies of Republicans, they may mean they have messed things up enough that we can’t go back to Republican policies that failed to beat theirs. Don’t believe lies you want to believe. Demand the truth for the sake of your future and that of America. Rick Badman Warsaw
