Pierceton Elementary held their local contest for the Scripps National Spelling Bee Jan. 9. Layne Davison was the winner, and Kaitlyn Church was the first runner-up. Davison will go on to compete in the Kosciusko County Spelling Bee at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 3 in the Warsaw Community High School Performing Arts Center.
