NORTH WEBSTER – David W. “Dave” Berger, 82, North Webster, passed away at 5:24 p.m. May 9, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born Jan. 28, 1934, in Fort Wayne, to Everett W. and Thelma V. Herbst Berger. On July 28, 1962, in North Webster, he married Betty G. Tindall, who survives in North Webster. He moved to North Webster when he was 8 years old from Fort Wayne. He graduated in 1951 from North Webster High School, and then Indiana University in Bloomington. He was a United States Air Force veteran. He retired from R.R. Donnelley & Sons after 28 years of service and formerly worked at IBM for three years. He was a founding member of the New Life Christian Church & World Outreach in Warsaw; a 60-year member of American Legion Post 253, North Webster; Masonic Lodge, Cromwell; and Mizpah Shriners, Fort Wayne. He was an avid fisherman and golfer. He is survived by three daughters: Gina Bono, Boulder, Colo.; Lori (and spouse Matt) Brubaker, Warsaw; Michele (and spouse Jerry) Fisher, North Webster; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; four stepgrandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia (Burdette “Tony”) Strombeck, North Webster. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Melody May; and a stepgrandson, Kinser Brubaker. Services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at New Life Christian Church, Warsaw, with Pastor John B. Lowe II officiating. Military rites will be performed by the Air Force Honor Guard and American Legion Post 253. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw. Calling is from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the church.
